The 3rd Caterham Rotary Bunny Fun Run took place on Sunday 28th March 2010 in Queen’s Park, Caterham. Over 100 runners took part in the 1K fun run while over 200 runners took part in the 5K Run helping to raise funds for St Catherine’s Hospice and other local charities.

Teams of competitors took part from Ross Cycles, Cross Fit, Harestone Lops to name but a few, as well as many individuals in memory of loved ones. Sam Gyimah the Conservative Parliamentary Candidate for East Surrey ran, while Beverly Connolly County Councillor for Caterham Valley ran the 5K race after arriving late for the start of the 1K race.

Jack Arnold was the first across the winning line in 18.06 part of the Cross Fit team, while the first lady was Helen Wilson in 20.01

Many of the participants dressed up for the occasion and prizes were given to the best dressed. Mums and dads ran carrying babies on their backs or pushing them in pushchairs, grandparents ran with grandchildren, the family dogs ran with the family. The 1st Caterham Santa Run took place on 13th December 2009 in Queen’s Park, Caterham to raise funds for St Catherine’s Hospice. With the closure of Marie Curie Cancer Care Hospice in Harestone Valley Road in Caterham in March 2009, St Catherine’s Hospice became the local provider of end of life care for people with incurable illnesses in the Tandridge area. As all of there services are provided free of charge, funds are needed to continue providing their specialised care.

Nearly 80 men, women and children dressed as Santa suits, some with dogs dressed for the occasion as well, covered the 3k run around the park. All participants were given a medal for competing in the race, with drinks and mince pies enjoyed by all, after the race.
