Caterham Round Table celebrated being 60 with a Dinner for past and present members at Surrey National Golf Club in Rook Lane, Chaldon on 18th May.

Best known for organising the Annual Fireworks Display held in Dene Field in Caterham, they have now established themselves as part of the Caterham Festival by running the Boat Race during the Street Party and Waller Pain, a cycle hill climb.

Members aged between 18 and 45 years old, last year raised almost £50,000 for local charities.

The 4th Caterham Rotary 5km Race took place in glorious sunshine on Sunday 17th April 2011 starting in Queens Park, Caterham going out through scenic Chaldon before returning to Queens Park for the finish line.

Rolf Chouton was the first across the winning line with a time of 19.51, while the first lady was Phyllis Flynn with a time of 20:54. A group of six, running on behalf of St Catherine’s Hospice came in together with a time of 01:17:43. All participants received an Easter egg for their efforts.

On Sunday 17th April, Tinkerbell a rescue pony from Chaldon carried seven year old Tianna Moon around the cricket green at The Village on Caterham Hill followed by her attendants before being crowned Caterham May Queen. [Read more…]

The Chaldon Village Fete took place on Bank Holiday Monday 30th August 2010. The sun shone as the crowds flocked to St Peter & St Paul School in Rook Lane, Chaldon to support this Annual event, which raises funds for local organisations. [Read more…]
