The 2^nd Caterham Festival was launched today 28^th May 2010 at The Soper Hall in Harestone Valley Road, Caterham Valley. An invited audience heard Mr Norman Skinner read out his poem, which won the competition run by the Caterham & District Independent describing the Caterham Festival. Sam Gyimah the new MP for East Surrey also attended what is the start of a month of arts, sports, food, community & heritage events.

Caterham Festival won an award, they came first in the Social and Community category, of the South East Market Town.

Caterham District Scouts held a St George’s Day Parade on Sunday 25^th April 2010. Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorer Scouts, set out from Beechwood Road in Caterham Valley they marched along Croydon Road to Timber Hill Recreation Ground where a service was led by Revd. David Marshall-Jones.

Leaders from 1st Warlingham and 1st Caterham were presented with their Wood Badges during the service.
