Hundreds of people turned out to watch the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, fly over the RAF Tribute at Kenley Airfield on Sunday 26th June. Air Cadets from 450 (Kenley) Squadron, had marched from their headquarters, around the airfield to the memorial, before lowering the flag as a mark of respect as the aircraft flew over.

Crowds witnessed the Lancaster, Hurricane and Spitfire swooping overhead at about 4.30pm, on a day aimed at celebrating the arrival of Number 64 Spitfire Squadron to the airfield in 1940.

The many families who had gathered on the airfield cheered and waved as the aircraft passed over four times. It was estimated over 500 people had turned out to watch this flypast, no doubt helped by the glorious weather!
